It is impossible to avoid viruses completely – many people think it is mainly luck whether we catch them.

But we don’t catch an illness from just one virus – we get ill when more virus enters our body than our body can cope with.

So the less virus that gets into our bodies, the better our chance to fight back against them.

This means we don’t have to avoid ALL virus. From what we know of viruses like coronavirus, the more virus we come in to contact with, the more ill we may become and the more likely we are to then spread viruses to other people. So avoiding as much virus as we can will help protect ourselves and others from becoming seriously ill.

It may seem impossible to stop a virus spreading between the people in your home or school, but Germ Defence has proved that it can be done!
